Your Move to Specialised Supported Living

Smooth & Supported Transition

Making the move to Supported Living—whether leaving the family home or seeking greater independence—is a big step. We provide friendly encouragement and emotional support to ensure the transition is smooth, positive, and rewarding for both the individual and their family.

Finding the Right Supported Living Accommodation

We work closely with housing associations, private landlords, and local agencies to offer community-based Supported Living accommodation in flat schemes or shared properties. You will hold your own tenancy and maintain responsibility over household responsibilities.

We meticulously match you to the right home, considering:

  • Location and Accommodation: Ensuring the space meets your current needs and future goals for independent living.

  • Routines and Compatibility: Essential for those with Autism or Learning Disabilities, we ensure consistency. In shared houses, we match housemates based on similar lifestyles and interests for a rewarding environment.

  • Community Access: All homes are set in the heart of communities with easy access to amenities and transport links.

Getting the Support You Need

Supported Living Move-In Process (6 Steps)

If you or someone you know requires day-to-day help, here is the simple process to secure our Supported Living services:

  1. Needs Assessment: Contact your local council or GP to request a needs assessment from a social worker or occupational therapist. They determine the support required. (Links to NHS guidance can be provided here)

  2. Contact Allerton: Once your local council has agreed to your support needs, contact Allerton to begin the process.

  3. Personal Visit: We arrange a visit to discuss your current situation, support needs, and your short, medium, and long-term ambitions for supported living.

  4. View Homes: You will be invited to arrange visits to our available apartments or shared houses in your preferred location.

  5. Funding Proposal: We create a detailed support and funding proposal to send to your local council for approval, keeping you informed throughout.

  6. Move-In: Once funding is approved, we set a move-in date and provide hands-on support throughout the transition process to ensure a smooth start to your Supported Living journey.
