    Celebrating as Team

    The team in Eastleigh recently hosted an amazing Halloween party, sharing the fun by inviting their friends to join the celebration! The event was a proper celebration of friendship and community spirit, complete with plenty of food, laughter, and a few spooky surprises along the way. A huge shoutout and thank you go to the dedicated team who worked hard to pull the whole event together, you absolutely nailed the spooky season fun!

    Individuality and Independence

    Diane loves getting her nails done as her special moment of self-care, and this time she went all out in preparation for her upcoming Halloween Zumba party! She chose a fantastic mix of spooky and stylish, black nails with silver glitter, complete with two tiny spiders painted on her fingers. Diane was thrilled with the result, admiring how they shimmered under the light and imagining how good they will look when she dances, sparkles, and gives a few people a playful scare on the dance floor!

    Being Present and Enjoying the Moments

    Our Team in Kent joined a group of people we support recently had an amazing, adrenaline-filled time at Thorpe Park’s Fright Night! They spent the day bravely taking on the theme park's most thrilling attractions, with the terrifying SAW ride proving to be a firm favourite among the thrill-seekers. Bede especially enjoyed taking a well-deserved break at the Donut Factory for a sweet treat and couldn't resist topping off the excitement with an enormous ice cream! It was a fantastic day full of laughter, memorable moments, and excitement for everyone involved.

    Appreciating and Celebrating Diversity

    The team in Watford came together to celebrate Black History Month, a crucial time dedicated to recognising, celebrating, and learning about the immense achievements, history, and contributions of Black people across the world. The celebration was filled with vibrant cultural elements, including traditional clothing, bracelet making, and a delicious spread of African delicacies. The team prepared favourites such jollof rice, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere of sharing and connection. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day so special and for continuing to champion diversity, culture, and community.

    Simply Joy and Living life

    Mark recently enjoyed a very special evening in Eastleigh, where they attended a live performance by Peter Andre. Mark was absolutely thrilled to hear "Mysterious Girl" performed on stage, but the highlight of the night was getting to meet Peter afterwards in the marquee for a chat! This fantastic experience created a memorable moment, and Mark couldn't have been more excited to share the joy of his extraordinary night out.

    Recognising Achievements and Talent

    Our Signing Choir in Kent recently joined forces with VSC once again to perform at the beautiful Rochester Cathedral, as part of the Community, Craft and Courage event which celebrates local charities. The choir delivered a fantastic set, but the highlight was being invited to reprise two of their most popular numbers, "Proud" and "This Is Me," in a special performance for the Lord Lieutenant, Lady Colgrain—a huge honour and a powerful testament to their talent and positive impact! We couldn't be prouder of everything the choir is achieving: spreading joy, raising awareness, and inspiring everyone they perform for. You can catch the choir at their next exciting event on 4 November 2025.

    Cowboy Inspired Festivities

    The people we support and our team from in Kent traded their regular shoes for cowgirl and cowboy boots, hats, and bandanas to spend the day line dancing! With fantastic guidance from dance instructors Wendy and Karen, everyone enthusiastically took part in shuffles, boot scoots, and plenty of "yee-haws," bringing a fantastic energy to the floor. The event brought together individuals from our various services and the wider community, creating a wonderful atmosphere of connection, fun, and laughter. After working up an appetite, participants refuelled with a classic feast of chili and hotdogs. A huge thank you goes out to everyone who joined us and to the dedicated staff who worked hard to make this vibrant day such a success!

    Teams across our organisation recently participated in a comprehensive First Aid training session. As a care and support provider, maintaining up-to-date emergency knowledge is a vital part of our unwavering commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the people we support and our colleagues. The training focused on equipping our staff with essential life-saving skills, ensuring we can respond confidently and effectively in emergency situations. This engaging and practical session represents a valuable investment in our shared responsibility to provide the highest standard of care across all services.

    Allerton’s Day Centre’s annual Coffee Morning

    We are absolutely thrilled to share the incredible success of Allerton’s Day Centre’s annual Coffee Morning in Lincoln, which raised a wonderful £266! This heartwarming event was truly a collaborative effort. The people who attend the Day Centre worked diligently, baking delicious treats and reaching out to families, friends, and local businesses for donations. Our dedicated teams from both the day centre and supported living services also pitched in, helping to run stalls, serve hot drinks, and call bingo. Every penny raised will now go toward hosting a very special Christmas party for everyone. A massive thank you to our whole community—those who donated, attended, and helped make this event a success!

    Celebrating Zoe's Journey through Building Confidence and Independence

    Since moving into our service in Watford in 2021, Zoe has embarked on a remarkable journey of growth and achievement. With specialist support tailored to her learning disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and anxiety, Zoe has made incredible strides in communication and emotional regulation. Her resilience, paired with the dedication of our team, has helped her overcome past challenges. Today, Zoe is thriving in her new voluntary role, where she expresses immense joy and pride, fostering a strong sense of belonging and accomplishment. Looking ahead, Zoe is confidently working toward exciting long-term goals, including aspirations to travel abroad for the first time and ultimately achieve the independence of having her own home. We are incredibly proud to support Zoe as she continues to build her bright future!

    ANGEL

    Angel’s Story - A Journey of Confidence and Independence

    Facing challenges from global developmental delay and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), Angel joined our specialist service at [specific service location] in October 2022, seeking a path to independence. Our dedicated team immediately began working with Angel and multi-disciplinary teams, implementing tailored training and support to build trust and address her complex needs. Angel's transformation has been remarkable: she is now a confident, social woman who independently manages cooking and cleaning. She has successfully built meaningful relationships with peers, staff, and now has a boyfriend! Angel's happiness and engagement—even supporting more vulnerable peers—showcases her incredible growth. Extremely well-settled, she is looking forward to continued independence and planning a holiday with friends.

    HAYLEY

    Celebrating Hayley’s Success - A Journey to Independent Living

    Hayley joined our service in 2021, seeking focused support for her complex needs, including Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD), ADHD, and schizoaffective disorder. Due to her multiple diagnoses, Hayley had previously experienced several challenging mental health relapses, resulting in inpatient stays. Our dedicated team worked tirelessly alongside Hayley, focusing on communication, emotional regulation, anxiety management, and mindfulness practices to support her path toward self-improvement.

    Hayley has made countless great achievements during her time with us. She is now thriving in her job at a local charity shop and manages her communication, bills, tenancy, and all daily living skills with confidence. Having successfully reached her long-term goal of independence, Hayley's journey with us is culminating in a successful move to independent living in the coming months! We are incredibly proud of her transformation and look forward to cheering her on in her next chapter.
