Supported living

Set in the heart of communities, our supported living services provide the perfect place for people to build and maintain a life that they choose.

We take the time to learn what each person needs to ensure their home and personalised support plans are best suited to meet their current requirements and future goals and aspirations.

Whether this might mean adapting an existing home, or developing a new one, our housing and support teams work together to create and manage homes that are designed with our people in mind.

Outcomes focus

We believe that supported living is a pathway for people living their lives as independently as is possible. As an organisation we are ambitious for the people we support and will always aim to enable individuals to live a fulfilling and meaningful life with their wishes at the centre of all decisions made.

Our highly trained and experienced teams will work with people to maintain and build on their existing skills over time and create links with their local community where possible.

A truly independent life will look different for every person we support– some might want to pick up hobbies, pick up skills, others may choose to seek employment or volunteer. The important thing is that our outcomes-focused approach can support them at every step of the way and in doing so  help people live the life they choose. We respect each individual and value the need to promote their dignity and ensure their privacy is maintained when supporting and caring for them.

Facilities & amenities

Our properties come kitted out with quality facilities and amenities to ensure clients are very comfortable. See some examples of our high-quality specialist housing.

Home adaptions

We take the time to learn what each person needs to ensure our homes and support plans are best suited to meet their current requirements and future goals. Our housing & developments teams can facilitate a wide variety of adaptations, specifically tailored to someone’s physical needs.

This can include installing ceiling hoists, installing hydraulic countertops which can be adjusted to different heights, refurbishing bathrooms into wet rooms and many other adaptions.

Whatever the need, we seek the input of 3rd party experts to ensure everything is safe and adding to the quality of our clients’ lives.

Whether adapting an existing home, or developing a new one, our housing and support teams work together to create and manage quality, desirable homes that are designed with our people in mind.

Needs

We provide care and support to people who may be living with long term mental health conditions. This includes Schizophrenia, EUPD, Bi-polar Disorder and severe affective disorders.  Some people may have drug, substance and alcohol-related issues. We also support people diagnosed with a learning disability, or physical disability. We also support people who may have a dual diagnosis, e.g. both a learning disability and mental health needs.

Due to a person’s diagnosis they may present with self-injurious behaviours and behaviours which may be deemed as challenging possibly physically and/or verbally – our staff are experienced working with and supporting these people.

“Since moving to B almost 5 years ago, I am a completely different person. I've spent the majority of my life in hospitals, until I came here. It’s the longest I've lived in one place since I was 15 years old, I am now in my 30s.

I live somewhat independently now and even handle my own finances better which was a huge problem for me. These days I pay my bills, which I've never done before, and now I can even change a light bulb! I can also cook myself a meal using fresh ingredients rather than having a microwave meal.

This would not have been possible without the support I receive from the team here.”

“It has always been my dream to live independently. Since I have lived here with the help of my support staff this has been made possible.

I love living here. I have my own transport that my support staff can use take me all over the place - I go to the theatre, shows, shopping, go to my family’s houses or just out and about for a drive.

I have also visited schools to do talks and most recently wrote my own book to raise money for charity. All of this has been made possible by having the support of my team.”
